Make Father's Day a Special Day

To all the Dads in our church. I invite you to our services this Sunday where I will be giving a special message designed just for you (and me). You know, considering that the conception of a child is an act of God's design, no man really chose to be a father. Oh, you can say that you got married because you wanted to be a father, or that you adopted a child and became a father, but the bottom line is that God arranged it. Perhaps you remember standing in that delivery room, holding that newborn baby, as I did several times. You probably had the same sensation sweeping over you that I did. With that sleeping (or crying) baby in your arms, you found yourself saying, "What in the world do I do next?" Of course, you didn't say that out loud because you didn't want your wife to panic! And, since no one gave you an instruction manual (especially with pictures and diagrams), you found out that learning to be a father occurs through constant on-the-job training. Just when you got one phase figured out, your kids changed! Then by the time you had a few things mastered, the subject of your training grew up and moved out! This Sunday we will be honoring our Dads and especially our Heavenly Father. Please join us!
