Getting to Know Your Neighbors

Dear Cambridge Family:

Happy May Day! As we begin a new month together I want to share a thought with you.

With the weather warming up, you and your neighbors are probably spending more time outside in the yard or taking walks on your street. I know that's happening in our neighborhood. Many of the children know our dogs by name and come running to greet them when Helen and I take them for walks. This is an excellent time to get to know your neighbors, if you don't already, and to build relationships. Building relationships are so important to growing a church. I was reminding of this when I read the following quote in OnMission Magazine:

"The key to any successful outreach are meaningful relationships formed by asking the right questions: Who are the people in your neighborhood? Where do they work, where are they from, what is their heart language? What makes them tick? All this can lead us to learn what is keeping them from pursuing a relationship with God."

In the next several weeks I hope to be sharing with you how we can all build relationships with the people in the Cambridge Baptist Church neighborhood.

The best is yet to come!
