SAVE THE DATE – SATURDAY JUNE 5TH Camp Alkulana Clean-Up Day
Gentlemen,
We have another opportunity to server others in our community. Saturday June 5th is clean-up day at Camp Alkulana and they could use our help!
- What is Camp Alkulana? Camp Alkulana’s mission is to reveal God’s love to low-income and at-risk children and youth of Central Virginia so that they might realize the intrinsic value in themselves and others. The camp is supported by the Richmond Baptist Association.
- Where is Camp Alkulana? Camp Alkulana is located in Millboro Springs, VA, deep in the Alleghenies. Approximately three hours from Richmond
- What would we do? Yard work, Light carpentry, Spring Cleaning, General repair and have a good time!!!
- Is there a schedule? Meet at church 6:45 AM eat breakfast on the way Arrive at camp by 10:00 and work until 4:00 with a lunch break. Stop in Staunton on the way home for dinner
- What do I need to bring? You will need to bring a bag lunch, we will need a few drivers; we will let you know if tools are need

NEW MONTHLY MEN’S BREAKFAST
The Men’s Ministry Team is very excited to announce our direct sponsorship of the NEW Monthly Men’s Breakfast. Responding to the request of Pastor Jay, the Team has worked diligently to identify an outstanding location to hold this monthly event. We have partnered with Chaplain Frank Schwall of Lakewood Manor, to hold our Monthly Men’s Breakfast every second Sunday of the month starting July 11th.
This relationship will accomplish many goals including local outreach through interaction with the residents of Lakewood Manor, building solid bonds among the men of CBC by meeting regularly once a month, a comfortable pleasant time for Christian fellowship while sharing a good meal, close proximity to the church allowing plenty of time on a Sunday morning for the event and arriving refreshed for Sunday school and worship service.
Specific details to be shared later in a church wide email so watch for it later this month.
We have high expectations for the success of this opportunity so feel free to invite guests to share in this men’s Christian experience and learn about Cambridge Baptist Church.

The Men’s Ministry Lunch Groups will meet as follows for the month of June. Please mark your calendar and bring a friend.
- Midtown Men’s Lunch Group will meet at Casa Grande, 7818 West Broad St (corner of Hungary Spring Rd and Broad St.) on Tuesday, June 15th at 11:45 p.m.
- Downtown Men’s Lunch Group will meet at Wall Street Deli, 8th and Franklin on Tuesday, June 29th, at 11:45 a.m.
- Romeo Lunch Group meets the last Thursday of the month at 12:00 p.m. at a rotating location. This month they will meet on Thursday, June 24th at Tony’s). Contact George Fleshman with any questions.
