Welcome to Cambridge Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia, where all are invited to worship and serve God.  Our church is a warm and loving fellowship where individuals have the freedom to worship, minister and experience God’s grace in a variety of ways.

Cambridge Baptist Church celebrated 21 years of Christian service in 2009, but we are not old. We have wonderful young families with small children who enrich and energize our fellowship.  Our senior adults are active and on the go. Our youth ministry is exciting and challenging. Wednesday night is the best time to meet all ages in an informal setting as we gather for a good meal and great fellowship. You will find a variety of mission and ministry opportunities at Cambridge Baptist where you are encouraged to discover and use your spiritual gifts.

Our professional ministerial staff brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our church. With only two senior ministers since we started and an associate minister; with over two decades of service originally as a member and recently graduating from Seminary, longevity is the norm.

First Visit, A Brief Introduction

Let us share with you what a person might expect when attending Cambridge Baptist Church (CBC) for the first time.

CBC is a come as you are fellowship — learning about and experiencing the love of Jesus Christ. We have Sunday worship service 10:30 am. The 10:30 worship is the more a mixed traditional and contemporary service with traditional hymns and our unique Praise Team singing and musical group. The message of the love of Jesus Christ as our Savior is the celebrated during this service. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to receive this gift of God’s grace.

Please dress however you feel comfortable. Most dress informally, and in the warm summer months, some wear shorts.

As you enter the main parking lot in front, the entrance to the sanctuary is located at the first set of doors you will see at the top of the stairs. This entrance is also accessible from the side drive without stairs. Entering from the back parking lot, entrance to the sanctuary is the double doors readily visible. We are handicapped accessible. Children of all ages are welcome in worship. Also if you prefer, the nursery for ages 3 and under is available from 9:15 am to noon. It is located down the hall from the sanctuary, past the multipurpose room. During the 10:30 service following the offering, children 4 years old thru 5th grade are welcome to attend Children ‘s Church, except on Communion Sundays when families are encouraged to share the Lord’s Supper together.

Greeters are available at the sanctuary doors to answer any questions you may have. Coffee is available in the multipurpose room before services – everyone is welcome. Sunday school classes are also available for all ages during the 9:15 hour. Anyone is welcome to attend. There will be someone available to help find your class/study group of interest.

The Cambridge Baptist Church community members consider us a true Family in Christ. We have something for everyone. Come visit and experience the warmth, compassion, acceptance, friendship, and Christian environment of spiritual growth. Join us for the many special events held throughout the year, Bible studies of various types, Sunday school classes for all ages, exciting youth programs, and outstanding relevant worship services open to all. Our membership is diverse, vibrant, very robust, and growing at all levels.

Our church participates actively on our commitment to God, remaining faithful to the teachings of Christ, sponsoring mission projects locally and throughout the world, an outreach foundation to serve the community, exercising faithful teaching of the Bible, practicing the Word in love and support of each other in our daily lives.

Cambridge Baptist Church subscribes to the 1963 doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. Our final authority for our faith and practice is Jesus Christ, whose will is revealed in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.
